Want to take your inversion practice to the next level? Whether you want tips on swinging up to the wall, gain the courage to move away from the wall, learn the secret to balancing, develop confidence and trust in your body or all of the above, this workshop is for you!
Intermediate Hand-balancing is for the student who has already been working on their stamina in the handstand and wants to really nail down alignment and balance. We all love to arch in our handstands (it just feels so great), but in this class we will focus on subtle changes in body alignment to achieve balance in that straight, stacked line. You will learn drills and stretches that you can work on at home and how to be a helpful spotter.
Pre-requisites: Controlled one-minute handstand on the wall, confidently kick up to a free-standing handstand (no wall) and come down with control (no time requirement in a balance).
Teacher: Leah Leor
Contact Improv/Partner Yoga
Discover new ways to Connect & Flow in this playfully intuitive workshop where we will explore elements of Contact Improvisation within the context of Partner Yoga. This all-levels workshop is open to those who want to mindfully explore movement, breath and connection though basic weight sharing, supportive sequences, while exploring the subtle energies of healing touch though elements of Thai Massage/Thai & Fly in a fun and safe environment.
Teacher: Tatiana Sanchez
Intro to Slakasana
In this introduction you will learn the amazing practice of “slackasana,” yoga poses on a slackline (a one-inch thick piece of tubular webbing, tied between two fixed points that creates something between a tightrope and a trampoline). Take an exploratory journey of perceived limitations to embody a true sense of balance on the slackline. This includes standing (commitment), kneeling (core strength), sitting (focus), arm balancing (breath), as well as exercises for more seasoned slackers to expand their comfort zone on the line. We will use a partner, a slackline and the ground to perfect and breakdown movements on the slackline. All skill levels encouraged to come. No experience necessary.
